On 21 September 2021 the Verona Arena was the setting for “Invitation to travel – Concert for Franco Battiato”. A show that now becomes a live album available in a double special version: double CD and box with 4 vinyls (label: International Music and Arts – distribution: Universal Music Italia) and on all digital platforms.
The most surprising thing about the performance that is presented in this live album, and which also stood out in its purely visual, emotional, physical part, is the embrace with which Franco Battiato went through his artistic experience: embracing electronics, experimentation, orchestral music and the more pop and melodious music not anticipating the times, as is sometimes written about great personalities, but rather bringing them closer together, prefiguring them, making them all incredibly contemporary.
The many inclinations of Battiato, his many voices, supported by an orchestra such as the one formed by the Filarmonica dell’Opera Italiana Bruno Bartoletti conducted by Carlo Guaitoli and the musicians who accompanied Battiato on the last tour were represented at the Arena di Verona: Angelo Privitera on keyboards and programming, Osvaldo Di Dio and Antonello D’Urso on guitars, Andrea Torresani on bass, Giordano Colombo on drums. The rest is the story of the music that has accompanied us in Italy for decades and that finds itself on a prestigious stage to tell its best, an uninterrupted flow of music, capable of crossing decades with the gift of continuous relaunch, of the ever-present challenge.
It is not a tribute to Franco Battiato, but a meeting between one of the most important composers of the last 50 years and many artists who have come looking for him.

JAKARTA – The government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has launched the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program in the film sector or so-called PEN Film. This is one of the efforts to further advance the Indonesian film industry, which had slumped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the PEN Film program, a number of production houses and the Indonesian film community are given assistance to create their works. There are three assistances provided, namely for pre-production, production, and film promotion.

One of those who received this assistance was a film producer from Malang, Arfan Adhi Perdana, who worked for the CV Confidemus Creative Media production house. The production house was chosen to receive government assistance for Indonesian film production in the short film category.
?Initially we tried to register. After being selected, we were finally accepted (for help). This is a blessing even though it can be said that it is also a test for us to advance to class. Because with an ideal budget, we can also upgrade to a class, especially for film workers in Malang,” said Arfan when contacted by MNC Portal, Sunday (12/5/2021).
With this assistance, Arfan and his team are currently producing a short film entitled ‘Jangka Kala’. This film tells about the life of a pair of fishermen from the lower strata who are waiting for their baby. This fishing couple believes in the myths about turtle eggs which are believed to be able to keep the wife’s womb. However, the pair then faced regulations for turtle conservation and climate change in their area.
Raising about myths and the environment in Malang, the production process of the short film Jangka Kala took shooting locations in several tourist destinations in Malang, East Java. Among them are Clungup Beach, Tiga Warna Beach, Kondang Buntung boat pier, and Sendang Biru fish port.
?We hope that with this film, more people will be more familiar with destinations in Malang, such as Tiga Warna Beach, Clungup Beach. In addition, hopefully it can also help local communities around here to later grow the economy in the tourism sector in Malang,” he said.
According to him, the PEN Film program deserves to be continued to promote the industry and ecosystem in the Indonesian film world after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. “This assistance is very helpful for filmmakers who can finally move again,” said Arfan.
In the future, he said, the film Jangka Kala will be included in film festivals, both domestically and abroad.
