LOS ANGELES, Jan. 1 (UPI) – Singer Natalie Cole died of congestive heart failure Friday at a Los Angeles hospital last Friday. She was 65 years old.
“It is with heavy hearts that we bring you the news of the passing of our Mother and sister. Natalie faced a fierce and brave battle, dying as she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be missed and it will remain unforgettable in our hearts forever, “his family said in a statement Friday.
TMZ reported that Cole had been suffering from complications from a kidney transplant and hepatitis C, and was forced to cancel several recent submissions shortly before her death.
The daughter of music legend Nat King Cole was best known for her songs “This Will Be” and “Unforgettable,” which she recorded as a virtual duet with her late father.

-I didn’t think of a song for Tik Tok. The king of that is Camilo, each release has a challenge. I keep writing from the heart so that anyone can sing, even without knowing how to do it.
-Do you remember when was the first time you showed something and you took it seriously?
-At 15 when I composed “Lo Nuestro Has Magia” or “Un Shot”, I showed them and they arrived; They are songs that are still relevant today. They not only reached adolescents but also adult people.
-There has been a lot of talk about Lionel Messi these days and you composed ?Zurda de cristal? a couple of years ago. What was the trigger?
-I composed it after his resignation after defeat in the Copa América. The first thing that occurred to me was to say ‘how can we demand so much from him when we have the pleasure of seeing a sport turn into an art’. Messi is an artist, a different. From there the theme came out that reached a lot of places. The other day they showed me a documentary from a Spanish channel that talked about Messi’s life and the song sounded.
