<p>?Our goal for this project was to develop a method to quantify land cover changes from natural processes and storms on barrier islands,? says Beth Sciaudone, co-author of the study and a research assistant professor of civil, construction and environmental engineering at North Carolina State University. ?Ultimately, tracking and understanding these land changes can help us identify areas of coastal highway that are especially vulnerable to damage. It could also help us better understand how natural processes and infrastructure projects affect coastal wildlife habitat.?</p>
<p>For this study, the researchers focused on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, on North Carolina?s Outer Banks. Specifically, the researchers made use of detailed, color-infrared images of the island that were taken each year from 2011 through 2018. These images allowed them to track changes in land cover across the island. The images were also used to create terrain models that let researchers assess changes in topography across the island.</p>
<p>Using these tools, the researchers were able to assess the land cover on the island and divide it into a dozen categories, such as beach, vegetated sand dunes, marsh and estuarine ponds. They could then measure the amount of each land-type on the island and how it changed over time. For example, there might be five total acres of marsh, including one acre of estuarine pond that had shifted to marsh over the past year.</p>
<p>But the researchers also noticed something else regarding the relationship between storms and wildlife habitat.</p>
<p>The images highlighted the extent to which Hurricane Irene in 2011, and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, reshaped Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.</p>
<p>?We already knew that bare sand is good wildlife habitat for many coastal species, but this work shed light on both how storms create habitat and how long that habitat lasts,? Sciaudone says.</p>
<p>What the researchers found was that, on barrier islands, a lot depends on which direction the storm is coming from. For example, Hurricane Irene hit Pea Island from the Pamlico Sound to the west, while Hurricane Sandy hit the island from the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Both storms caused noteworthy changes in land cover. However, the long-term impact of the two storms has varied significantly.</p>
<p>When Hurricane Sandy wiped out vegetation, creating areas of bare sand, it took three to four years for the vegetation to recover. Meanwhile, Hurricane Irene fundamentally changed the hydrodynamics on the western side of the island, increasing the amount of habitat hospitable for shorebirds and other coastal species.</p>
<p>?Evaluating these habitat changes directly informs conservation management decisions on the refuge and helps us prioritize resource protection and restoration actions,? says Rebecca Harrison, co-author of the study and supervisory refuge wildlife biologist at the refuge for the U.S. Fish &amp; Wildlife Service.</p>
<p>?The methodology that we?ve developed here could be used to help quantify changes on barrier islands anywhere,? Sciaudone says. ?And working with regional wildlife experts can help us understand what those land cover changes mean for habitat.</p>
<p>?The takeaway is that we need to ensure our efforts to build and preserve coastal infrastructure take into account the role that coastal erosion and related natural processes play in creating and preserving wildlife habitat ? and the work we?ve done here can inform that sort of decision-making.?</p>

It has been a year since the industry and NGOs have been waiting for this detailed roadmap, since the British Prime Minister published, in November 2020, a <em>&#8220;Ten point plan&#8221;</em> intended to meet the 2050 target, which is singularly lacking in detail.</p>
<p class="article__paragraph ">Some £ 620million (? 734million) will go towards bounties on the purchase of electric cars and the expansion of the charging station network in the country, with London having already announced in 2020 that the sale of New petrol or diesel cars would be banned from 2030. A research fund for &#8216;zero carbon&#8217; technologies will be matched with an additional £ 500 million, with £ 120 million going to the <em>&#8220;Nuclear research&#8221;,</em> which should work on the technologies of small modular reactors, and another 124 million for reforestation, with the objective of replanting 30,000 hectares of wood per year and restoring 280,000 hectares of peat by 2050.</p>

It is also true that the Johnson government has shown itself to be very ambitious in raising, at the start of the year, to 78% its target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 (compared to the level of &#8216;1990 emissions).</p>

<h3><u>ITALY</u></h3>
<p>On Saturday night, scorer Dennis Praet and Torino defeated Sampdoria, 3-0, as part of the 11th day of the Italian league. Olympique Lyonnais, with Jason Denayer, beat Lens 2-1 for Matchday 12 of Ligue 1. Praet opened the scoring against his former club Sampdoria (17th), then Singo (52nd) and Belotti ( 90th + 3) hit the nail on the head. Meanwhile, Adrien Silva had received a red card for the Genoese club (67th). Dennis Praet was replaced in the 77th by Rincon. </p>
<p>In the standings, Torino moved away from the danger zone and settled in the middle of the standings, 11th with 14 points while Sampdoria was 15th with 9 points. </p>
<p>With Jason Denayer throughout the game, Lyon won their match against RC Lens, 2-1. OL took shelter in the first half thanks to Toko Ekambi on penalty (25th) and Aouar (41st). Kalimuendo reduced the gap in the second period for Lens (61st), without inspiring his people to snatch the draw.</p>
<p>Lyon is getting closer to Lens in the standings. Les Gones are 5th with 19 points, and Lens is 2nd, 2 points ahead of their opponent of the day but 10 behind the untouchable Paris Saint-Germain.</p>
<h3><u>GERMANY</u></h3>
<p>Holder after having been decisive this week in the German Cup, Thorgan Hazard did not miss the opportunity to show himself by scoring the first goal for Borussia Dortmund against Cologne in the 40th minute of play. the Red Devil lonely in the little rectangle and magnificently served by Bellingham.</p>
<p>Thorgan Hazard stood out with a goal in Borussia Dortmund&#8217;s victory against FC Cologne (2-0). Nathan De Medina started in the defensive line of Arminia Bielefeld, who lost 1-2 against Mainz on goals from Lee Jae-Sung (0-1, 25th), Laursen (1-1, 42nd) and Burkardt (1-2, 69th). De Medina was nevertheless replaced at half-time by Wimmer.</p>
<p>Belgians Wolfsburg saw their side&#8217;s winning streak come to a halt on the road at Bayer Leverkusen. The Wolves won the match 0-2 thanks to ex-Anderlechtois Nmecha (48th) and Arnold (51st). Koen Casteels, captain, played the entire match between pole vaults and Aster Vranckx also started. Dodi Lukebakio climbed at half-time in place of Philipp, while Sebastian Bornauw remained on the bench.</p>
<p>Tigges was responsible for doubling the bet for Borussia (64th). Besides Hazard, replaced in the 58th minute by Malen, Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier were both holders. They played the entire game.</p>
<p>In the standings, Dortmund are 2nd, one length behind Bayern who has 25 points. Wolfsburg, 16 points, is 7th while the Arminia Bielefeld is relegated, in 17th position, with only 5 points.</p>
<h3><u>ENGLAND</u></h3>
<p><strong>Trossard scorer against Liverpool</strong></p>
<p>While the Seaguls were down 2-0 at Anfield after 25 minutes of the works of Henderson and Mané, Graham Potter&#8217;s men returned. First of all thanks to a nugget from Enock Mwepu whose distant strike lobbed Alisson. In the 65th, it was Leandro Trossard, once again holder, who equalized. Isolated in the rectangle, the Devil was well served by Lallana and had no trouble deceiving the Reds goalkeeper.</p>
<p><strong>Sambi Lokonga and Arsenal win against Leicester&#8217;s Tielemans and Castagne</strong></p>
<p>Arsenal, with Albert Sambi Lokonga who played the entire match, won 0-2 at Leicester at the opening of Matchday 10 of the English Championship. Youri Tielemans and Timothy Castagne played the entire game for the Foxes. Arsenal took advantage of their good start to the game to score the two winning goals in the first 20 minutes of the game. Gabriel opened the scoring from a corner (5th) before Emile Smith-Rowe, at the conclusion of a counter-attack, doubled the bet (18th).</p>
<p>In the second half, Leicester then pushed to pick up the score but the Foxes stumbled on Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.</p>
<p>In the standings, Arsenal climbed to 5th place with 17 points. Leicester slipped to 10th position with 14 units.</p>
<p><strong>Trossard scores and Brighton keep Liverpool in check, De Bruyne and City lose</strong></p>
<p>The notable performance is to be put to the credit of Leandro Trossard, scorer with Brighton, who held Liverpool in check at Anfield, 2-2. Brighton, in difficulty after a successful start to the season, managed to pocket the point of a draw at Anfield, against Liverpool (2-2). Leandro Trossard, holder for the Seagulls, scored the tying goal in the 65th minute. Previously, Henderson had opened the scoring for Liverpool (4th) and Mané had made 2-0 (24th). <p>Ankle-injured Romelu Lukaku was missing from the scoresheet for Newcastle-Chelsea, which ended in a clear 0-3 victory for the Blues. Christian Kabasele also missed Watford&#8217;s 0-1 loss to Southampton through injury.</p>
<h3><u>SPAIN</u></h3>

<p> Right at the beginning of the narrative publication, the author of most of the lyrics and at the same time for sixty years the bandleader Ji?í Tichota explains and gives answers to various questions. The ambition of the book was definitely not to describe in detail in the form of a chronicle what was happening in the group from year to year. Rather, he wrote in more detail about the very beginnings of the formation and then pulled out the interesting facts and peculiarities she encountered. Hand in hand with this is the history and political history of the country, which was quite moved for half of the band&#8217;s operation. </p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="deezer-widget" src="https://widget.deezer.com/widget/light/album/63626732" width="660" height="250" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"></iframe></p>
<p>The fight with the censors and the search for the boundary, what is still possible to publish, what song to record, what to say between the songs during the performance, it happened at that time practically constantly and several stops for the quintet cost. However, it was bought with a lot of positive reactions, which have a special place in the new book. When one reads them, one begins to understand at least a little how the feelings must be felt by the composer and performer of music, which was able to give the audience optimism and courage in times of oppression and non-freedom, and which was able to change if not immediately, then certainly affect people&#8217;s lives. One cannot fail to notice the beautiful stylistics and style of Dr. Tichota, a trained musicologist who does not lack a fine tingling, and at the same time it can be seen here that he was the bandleader in his place. A person comes to this opinion when he finds that he is willing to listen to the opinions of others (and more and more over time), but in the end he always does all the essential things in his own way and does not regret them over time. The author is not afraid to bite into a sour apple a few times in this book, especially in connection with forced and unforced personnel changes. Fans rarely find out exactly what was behind the end of each member &#8211; it was especially difficult when the ladies&#8217; darling Old?ich Ortinský left. But the group is essentially like a family, moreover, in the quintet, later formed by eight people, each of whom was different in nature, liked different music and the like. Nevertheless, Tichot succeeded in all the changes, and the arrival of young blood for the last ten years was not a cry into the dark at all; Songy <i>Spirituálu</i> in fact, the radio never played much, and yet he sold out concerts even in the largest halls, and fans who, for example, were scattered around the world due to emigration, knew his songs intimately. Experiences from exotic journeys form an integral part of the publication, as well as non-traditional meetings with American presidents or the opportunity to play at Prague Castle for first ladies, including Laura Bush. The publication also includes inserted texts with various branches, which the main article would not be able to accommodate. Du?an Van?ura also writes about the fate of the song &#8220;When the Right Comes Back to Us&#8221;.</p>
<p><center></p>
<div class="vpl"><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1tbnDavSLgU?rel=0&amp;autoplay=1" onclick="var tmpo=&quot;&lt;iframe width=100% height=360 src=&quot;+this.href+&quot; frameborder=0 allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;&quot;;$(this).parent().parent().html(tmpo);return false;" rel="noopener"></a></div>
<p><i></i></center></p>
<p>The last group was given the opportunity to comment on their entire engagement as well. While the bandleader&#8217;s wife Zdena Tichotová managed to make do with a few lines, Du?an Van?ura, who wished for the vast majority of final concerts postponed due to the covid, did not survive, deservedly (after Tichot&#8217;s longest serving member in the ensemble for 51 years) an avid traveler devoted himself to an expedition to the USA, where he visited on the occasion of the celebration of thirty years since the Velvet Revolution. Ji?í got the space right behind him <i>Cidla</i> Cerha, who weaved into the last sentence: <i>&#8220;We are finishing slowly, but we are assuring that in full force. And Ji?í Cerha and CK Vocal continue &#8230;&#8221;</i> At the time, he had no idea that he would die suddenly just days after the last concert. The whole book is made in A4 format, contains a lot of black and white and color photographs and is on beautiful chalk paper. And there is one more special bonus. There was no point in releasing another compilation, because in 2019 the album &#8220;Singing with the Spiritual Quintet&#8221; was released, which pinned the role of Zdena Tichotová. The &#8220;Music-Connected World&#8221; multipack was created in the 1950s, and many more selections followed. Therefore, when considering which audio medium to say goodbye to the listeners, the musicians decided on a collection in which several of the oldest surviving recordings of the wooden Spiritual (then still) quartet will be supplemented by the complete opposite &#8211; new versions of old and cult songs, but in the most current cast, with fresh energy and a lack of musical and vocal experience. The songs &#8220;I&#8217;m Free&#8221; and &#8220;Danielis prophetia&#8221; have never been recorded before. A big plus is that the carriers are devoted to the last three pages of the text in the book, which puts several songs into the context of the time and explains exactly why the album also contains examples of jokes, which every performance of the group used to be full of. During an example of the period atmosphere at the &#8220;Haú, white plain&#8221; in Porto, Pilsen, the younger generation can get a picture of what the activity bans were then imposed on.</p>
<p><center></p>
<div class="vpl"><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cCErzfyobdc?rel=0&amp;autoplay=1" onclick="var tmpo=&quot;&lt;iframe width=100% height=360 src=&quot;+this.href+&quot; frameborder=0 allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;&quot;;$(this).parent().parent().html(tmpo);return false;" rel="noopener"><img src="https://img.youtube.com/vi/cCErzfyobdc/0.jpg" alt="" height="360" /><img src="https://musicserver.cz/images/vpbh.png" class="vplarr" alt="" /></a></div>
<p><i></i></center></p>
<p>This non-traditional ensemble is therefore a very dignified farewell to the career of the ensemble, which is the basic building block of Czech folk and inspiration even for today&#8217;s beginning bands, which have their music-making based on acoustic instruments and perfect polyphonies. <img loading="lazy" src="https://musicserver.cz/clanek-img/66732/" width="1" height="1" alt="" align="right" />

<div class="vpl"><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1tbnDavSLgU?rel=0&amp;autoplay=1" onclick="var tmpo=&quot;&lt;iframe width=100% height=360 src=&quot;+this.href+&quot; frameborder=0 allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;&quot;;$(this).parent().parent().html(tmpo);return false;" rel="noopener"></a></div>

<p class="article__paragraph ">Israel dealt an unprecedented blow to Palestinian civil society and its international donors on Friday, October 22, by classifying six established human rights organizations among the <em>&#8220;Terrorist organizations&#8221;</em>. This order was signed by the Minister of Defense, Benny Gantz, who distinguished himself in August by becoming the first member of the Israeli government in a short decade to meet the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, in Ramallah. Since then, Israel has repeatedly stated that it intends to strengthen the Palestinian Authority and the occupied territories, in particular through economic measures, while excluding any political negotiations with the Palestinians.</p>

<p class="article__paragraph ">However, these six NGOs play an eminently political role, as a counterweight to a Palestinian Authority at the end of the line. These are Al-Haq, active in denouncing the occupation of the territories by the army since 1967, and the violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers; Addameer, who defends prisoners in Israel and documents administrative detentions, conducted without trial; the powerful Union of Agricultural Labor Committees; the Bisan research and development center; Defense for Children Palestine; and the Union of Palestinian Women&#8217;s Committees. On Monday, October 18, Israel had already announced the revocation of the granting of Jerusalem residency status to Franco-Palestinian Salah Hamouri, one of Addameer&#8217;s main lawyers.</p>
<p class="article__paragraph ">Israel argues that these organizations are linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a movement born out of Arab nationalism and Marxism, a pioneer of Palestinian resistance, which was once the most active faction after Fatah. It remains considered a terrorist organization by Israel and the European Union. Historically, many civil society movements have developed in line with factions, drawing on their networks within the population.</p>

<p itemprop="description">Smartphone maker OnePlus put its new Nord 2 on the shelves on Wednesday. The 5G device comes in two versions and is available from 399 euros.</p>
<div>
<p>The Nord 2 with 5G is the successor to the first Nord, which was introduced exactly one year ago. According to the manufacturer, the device from the middle segment offers better performance thanks to AI and a smarter camera system with optical image stabilization.</p>
<h2 class="rmgDetail-body-title">50MP main camera</h2>
<p>Chipset on duty is a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 which also takes care of 5G connectivity. The Nord 2 also has a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz and is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that can be quickly charged via the Warp Charge 65 adapter.</p>
<p>The eye-catcher on the camera island is the 50-megapixel Sony IMX 766 sensor. In addition to that main camera, there is an 8MP wide-angle camera with a range of 119.7 degrees and a 32-megapixel selfie copy. Remarkable: that is, for a front camera, the highest resolution so far on a OnePlus device.</p>
