Nearly 70,000 building and public works companies with fewer than 200 employees will be sold within 10 years. About 45,000 could go out of business for lack of a buyer. The stakes are therefore high and no solution should be neglected. Transmission to employees in the form of a SCOP (Cooperative and Participatory Company) is one way. Two companies have recently gone through this process: Pougnand in Celles-sur-Belle (Deux-Sèvres) and Labbé TP in Confolens (Charente).

Their leaders were kind enough to explain their background to us.

For Pierre Fondard, Secretary General of the Regional Federation of Construction SCOPs, the stakes are high in a region that is already well placed in terms of the number of SCOPs. ” Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the second in France with 80 construction SCOPs for nearly 2,000 employees. Our role is to inform the actors of the BTP of this possibility, then to accompany the sellers, the buyers with the Regional Union of SCOP.

The good news is that the construction sector is experiencing sustained activity, but on the other hand, it is suffering from fluctuations in the cost of materials and raw materials and a lack of manpower. Businesses are often equipped with heavy, expensive equipment and large storage areas. The investment for the buyers is therefore not negligible, but financing tools exist and our support, within the network, is experienced in this kind of challenge. »

A trio at the helm of SCOP Pougnad

Pougnad is a carpentry company, created in 1969 in Celles-sur-Belle (Deux-Sèvres) by Michel Pougnad. In 2004, he retired and sold the company to Henry Sicard and Claude Gautronneau.

Three young employees, from the work-study programme: Delphine Torres, Florent Cornuault and Clément Gautronneau (pictured above), bought the 30% share of the young retiree. On December 11, 2020, the company becomes a SCOP, 6 months before the retirement of Claude Gautronneau. The trio, already experienced in managing the company, in particular thanks to training at the Higher School of Young Building Managers (ESJDB), now makes up the Management Board, chaired by Delphine Torres. ” It took us 1 year of work to achieve the transformation into a SCOP with the adhesion of the 27 employees to the SCOP project. explains Florent Cornuault who had the idea of ??the SCOP thanks to an internship in Brittany during his ESJDB training. To make up their capital, fixed for each at 3 months’ gross salary, and to enable the takeover of the company, the employees were able to use a company savings plan, open for several years and funded thanks to a profit-sharing agreement with results. The Regional Union of SCOPs also came to support the project as well as the New Aquitaine Region.

The Pougnand company manufactures and installs joinery and carpentry for individuals and property developers in the territory of Poitou and Charentes.

« The transformation into SCOP was smooth recalls Delphine Torres. ” We all wanted the company to continue operating without disruption. All three of us were already in charge and all the employees were well aware that only the SCOP could allow us to remain independent of large groups. »

Labbé TP became a SCOP in June 2021. ?Take time to do things right?

It is in Confolens in Charente that Labbé TP is located, a public works company and individuals specializing in road works and sanitation. In 2011, the neighboring SCOP STPR, specialized in agricultural work and earthworks, acquired it. It will have taken 10 years to rebuild the cash flow and prepare the employees who have gone from 13 to 30 today to become cooperators and take over the reins of their business.

Labbé TP became a SCOP in June 2021.

In charge since 2011: Pierre Barrier, salaried manager of SCOP STPR. ” I joined the SCOP STPR, based in Pleuville in 2004. I became its manager in 2008. It was a real opportunity in 2011 to take over Labbé TP. The activities of the two companies are complementary, they operate in a similar geographical area: north Charente, south Vienne, west Haute-Vienne. A holding company was therefore created with STPR to carry out this takeover and I took part in it personally. In our businesses, SMEs tend to be taken over by large groups looking for new locations. It seemed important to us to maintain the independence of the company.

Following the STPR model, I worked with the team and the Regional Union of SCOPs on the transformation of Labbé TP into SCOP SA. Last June, all of the company’s employees became partners. They each brought a capital of 3 months of gross salary thanks, in particular, to a company savings plan. Everyone, in the two entities, understood the collective interest that emerges from this operation. Today, we plan to develop the model with the purchase of a third entity in difficulty based in the south of Vienne. »

Born on February 17, 1933 in Renazé in Mayenne, Lucienne Moreau was a night watchman for a long time before converting very late, at almost 70 years old, into comedy. She started as an extra for advertisements (notably for the opening of the RER E line) then very quickly obtained supporting roles in the cinema in the series H in 2002 or the film Who killed Bambi? released in 2003.

She then appeared on Canal+ in the satirical show Greenland, then revealed itself to the general public in 2010 in the Small Diary by Yann Barthès, with her column ?Lucienne Live Report?, in which she made fun of the evenings of the Parisian Jet Set.

At the same time, she continued to shoot in commercials like Cetelem, l’oreal, but also AdopteUnMec, where she was chosen by Thomas Pawlowski, current deputy director of RFM, and former director of communication for Europe 1.

Despite its first place at the Chinese box office for its first weekend, Matrix 4 gets off to a catastrophic start and is hugely disappointing.

After a calamitous domestic box office, there were concerns for the health of the franchise’s fourth installment. Matrix, Matrix Resurrections. Especially since we love the Wachowskis, for whom we have already cried a few failures at the box office, like that of Cloud Atlas.

The end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 marked a period of nostalgia. Ghostbusters: Legacy, West Side Story or the mastodon Spider-Man : No Way Home took us back to a time when the world was not yet imploding. And if after almost two decades of absence we could expect that Neo’s adventures in the Matrix once again fascinate viewers, the film’s box office seems to prove otherwise. In the United States first (where it only collected 35 million dollars in almost three weeks of exploitation), but also in China, where the film has just started its exploitation.

You have the choice between two pills. The blue pill is a sweet dream in which you can rejoice that Matrix 4 was number one at the Chinese box office during the weekend of January 14 to 16, 2022. By taking the red, you will learn thatit suffered little competition from productions at the end of their exploitation, and yet it only collected $ 7.5 million during the weekend of its start.

Matrix 4 has therefore now collected 140 million at the global box office, for a budget of 190 million dollars. A flop that is not about to be resolved thanks to the Chinese release of the film, since the public seems not to have appreciated it very much according to the ratings of the latter on sites like Maoyan or Douban (largely lower than those Chinese productions). Matrix 4 should thus complete its race nearly 15 million in revenue, a total but predictable disappointment.

Still, the competition seemed light. Yes Matrix 4 was the weekend champion within the Chinese box office, it was only rivaled by Embrace Again (a romantic comedy set against a backdrop of a pandemic), which brought in 6.8 million over the weekend, for a total of 126.6 million. The Thriller G Storm has, meanwhile, brought in 4.2 million for a total of 85 million in revenue. Short, Matrix 4 suffered the competition of only two not really sprawling productions, and at the end of their exploitation.

In his defense, Lana Wachowski’s production has suffered massive piracy since its simultaneous arrival on the HBO Max platform, December 22, and inevitably it pays the broken pots. All the more so when it comes out on Chinese territory almost a month after the rest of the world and has suffered half-hearted reviews.

However, this is not totally a surprise, since other productions have broken their teeth on the wall of the Middle Kingdom before it, for quite similar reasons. Season 4 of the series Cobra Kai, which repeatedly plays on our nostalgic fiber, has finally restored Johnny Lawrence’s real karate tournament record in the movies Karaté Kid. For years, even before Cobra Kai, the franchise had refused to recognize Johnny’s record in All Valley, preferring instead to support Daniel’s success on the show. The Season 4 finale changed that though, reminding audiences of just how much Johnny actually accomplished in his youth.

From the movie Karaté Kid 3, Daniel is indeed considered the only two-time All Valley champion for back-to-back wins against Johnny Lawrence in 1984 and against Mike Barnes, in 1985. Daniel’s track record is mentioned several times in Cobra Kai, but stating that he is the only double champion is false, since Johnny had the same record in the first film Karaté Kid. Yes, Johnny had the same record as Daniel, but for some reason (which is certainly the will to highlight Daniel), the franchise did not recognize him, and preferred to highlight Daniel’s record.

A correction made

Season 4 of Cobra Kai fixed that by finally addressing Johnny’s record. In the Season 4 finale, after dissolving their partnership midway through the season, Johnny and Daniel decide to reunite again to help support Sam in his match against Tory. When their partnership is announced to the public, Daniel takes the time to declare that Johnny is also a double champion of the tournament. And this statement is very important, since it marks the very first time that johnny’s record is mentioned and acknowledged from the original film Karaté Kid.

We can ask ourselves: why so late? Well, recognizing Johnny’s record is another way to series to redeem the character, and a way which works particularly well.
